Black Lab Sports Human Performance Laboratory is a state-of-the art human performance and wellness research facility. The goal of the Human Performance Laboratory is to innovate, validate and transform human performance research solutions for a wide range of products, from nutraceuticals to emerging fitness and sports performance technologies.
Human Performance Disciplines:
Biomechanics
The study and application of mechanical principles to understand and interpret movements and motions of the human body as they interact with their physical environment.
Exercise Physiology
The study of the acute responses and chronic adaptations of the human body to exercise and human performance.
Motor Control & Learning
The study of how biomechanical and neural systems interact with their environment and result in effective movement.

Purpose: to measure and examine the physiological response and metabolic cost during low/moderate and high intensity exercise among two different indoor exercise machines and to assess the feasibility, acceptability, and preliminary efficacy of the CLMBR exercise ergometer as compared to three other exercise machines (rower ergometer, treadmill, and cycle ergometer) as a means of enhancing exercise performance, through direct comparison and meta-data.
Mydecin - Effects of Acute Lions Mane and Cordyceps Militaris Supplementation on Maximal Aerobic Capacity
Purpose: to determine how acute supplementation of a commercial-based herbal formula containing lions mane and cordyceps militaris mushrooms effects performance during a maximal aerobic capacity (VO2max) test.
